His search led him to Scotland, where he apprenticed on Islay and worked inside active distilleries. He returned convinced that California deserved its own great single malt. That vision became 10th Street Distillery, founded with longtime collaborator Vishal Gauri and grounded in real grain, proper fermentation, copper stills, and maturation shaped by San Jose’s climate. The result is a growing portfolio of award-winning whiskies that prove California belongs among the world’s great single malt regions, balancing tradition with innovation in every bottle.
